Offline Earnings
A small top-up for time spent NOT in a run — capped, and never a main income source.
What it is for
Offline Earnings is a consolation payment, not an income source. It exists so that if your hero dies in the middle of the night you still wake up to something: your overnight run's gains, plus a few hours of offline coins on top. It is deliberately a small percentage of what an actual run earns — if it looks tiny next to your run income, it is working exactly as intended.
The Offline Earnings upgrade (Workshop, Economy tab) pays coins whenever your hero is NOT in an active run — in menus, between runs, on the death screen, or while the app is closed. The rate is a share of your best coins/hour from run history; each level raises the share, up to 15% at max.
The 12-hour limit — read this first
- Idle time pays for at most 12 hours, then it stops
- The budget is FULL while you are in a run and only drains while idle
- Starting a run refills it — so a run every day keeps it topped up
- It does not accumulate: being idle for three days still pays 12 hours
How the rate works
- Earns only while you are NOT in a run — an active run earns its own, much larger coins instead
- Rate = your best coins/hour from run history, times the upgrade percent (max 15%)
- Coins tick up live on any screen, and a "while you were away" popup shows the total on return
- Needs at least one finished run on record; with no history the rate is 0
Not the same as background play
Two different things share the word "offline", and mixing them up is the usual reason this looks broken. A RUN left going keeps fighting in the background — with the screen off, the app minimised, the phone in your pocket — and earns full run coins with no 12-hour limit. Offline Earnings only pays when NO run is going. So the best thing you can do is simply keep a run going and check back every few hours: that is full income, and the offline top-up is only there for after your hero finally dies.
