How the crit-triggered fire blast works, why you see an explosion instead of a projectile, and what damage class it deals.

How it triggers

Every critical bullet hit rolls the proc chance. On success a mini Fireball appears at the struck enemy's position — free of charge and independent of whether the Fireball power is equipped.

Blast, not projectile

Because the mini Fireball spawns right on the crit target, it detonates on that enemy almost instantly — in practice you see an explosion at the crit point rather than a flying projectile. It only travels onward when the crit killed its target; then it flies right until it hits the next enemy.

What counts

The proc can never start from a ranged-immune enemy: your bullets do not land on them, so they are never crit. The blast damages them only when it originates from a crit on a different enemy nearby.
